Steven P. Smith MD

Dr. Smith has practiced Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery exclusively for 27 years, the last 22 in Wellesley. Dr. Smith is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. Following completion of a surgical internship at Baystate Medical Center, he completed a laser fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center, involving pioneering work in photodynamic therapy. This was followed by a residency in Dermatology in the combined Boston University-Tufts University program. Dr. Smith was chosen as Chief Resident in his senior year.

After residency, Dr. Smith completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center. He has held teaching positions at Tufts university School of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and SUNY-Downstate Medical School (where he served as Chief Of Mohs Surgery).

A fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, Dr. Smith served as President of the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology from 2000-2005.

Personal
Dr. Smith lives in Brookline with his four children and one tortoise. He is considered an expert in the martial arts.
